A charity boxing night raising money for an organisation which supports ex-offenders is coming to Paddington this November.

Proceeds raised from Finance Fight Night will be going to St Giles Trust, a charity which aims to break the cycle of re-offending, create safer communities and support ex-offenders in turning their lives around.

The white collar boxing night, hosted by Legacy Boxing, will take place on November 16 at Porchester Hall, featuring bouts between members of the financial industry.

Funds raised from the night will go to St Giles Trust

A recruitment drive is currently underway to encourage the City's bankers to swap their calculators for boxing gloves in a bid to support the charity in equipping ex-offenders for life beyond prison.

"St Giles Trust has a long and proud history of punching well above its weight in helping some of society’s most disadvantaged individuals turn their lives around," said chief executive officer of St Giles Trust, Rob Owen.

He added: "One of our founding fathers was Freddie Mills, world light heavyweight boxing champion 1948-1950, and in our first ever charity fundraising event he agreed to fight a kangaroo in a ring.

The night will be hosted by Legacy Boxing

"It didn’t go too well for Freddie! However our services have moved on greatly since then but the needs of our clients still remain – jobs, homes and support at times of crisis. "

If you are a banker and think you have what it takes to jump into the red corner or fight for the blue, you may be delighted to hear that no experience is necessary and as part of the process Legacy Boxing are providing a free 9 week professionally run training camp, including a session with WBO European Champion, Anthony Yarde.

The boxing night will take place on November 16

Managing director of Legacy Boxing, Mark Morgan said: "We are delighted to be holding our first London Finance Fight Night in association with the St Giles Trust.

"We pride ourselves in giving all of the boxers who fight on our shows an experience like a true professional boxer so we can’t wait for the first training session in early September.

"This challenge is perfect for anyone who wants to get fit before the Christmas party season whilst raising money for charity and having a once in a lifetime experience".

If you think you have what it takes to don the shorts and jump into the ring, head to the Legacy Boxing website to sign up.
