A person has died after being hit by a train near Feltham station.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to reports of a body on the line close to the railway station today (Thursday October 29) at 12.47pm.

A spokeswoman for BTP said: “Officers from BTP and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a person with injuries, which were consistent with being struck by a train.

“Officers are now working to establish the person’s identity and the circumstances around the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained."

South West Trains reported a number of cancellations, delays and alterations to services between Feltham and Staines.

The lines have now reopened but train services are being affected on routes between Reading & Waterloo, Windsor & Waterloo and Weybridge and Waterloo via Hounslow.

This is the second incident in a week, after a 17-year-old boy died after he was hit by a train near Feltham station , on Saturday October 24.
