The body of a man was pulled from the river by rescue boats at Chelsea harbour on Thursday morning.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the Thames path at around 8.27am after a member of the public saw a body in the water.

Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) crews also attended the scene and recovered the body of a man who is believed to be in his 20's or early 30's.

An RNLI spokesman said: "The lifeboat arrived and the crew found a deceased man who was caught against a river pylon.

"It was agreed in the circumstances that the police would recover the body and the lifeboat was stood down."

A Met police spokesperson said the death has been deemed non suspicious.
