BHS shops in west London and across the country have been given their closing dates after the business entered administration back in April.

The Harrow , west Ealing and Uxbridge stores will stay open until August 20, which is when these branches are earmarked for closure by the administrators, Duff & Phelps.

More than 11,000 people will now be made redundant after no buyer could be found for the chain .

The administrators had said that although they received "multiple offers" for the sale of the business, none were able to complete a deal due to the working capital requires to secure the future of the company.

They have already shut down 20 stores and will close another 30 shops on July 30, although the west London branches will survive a bit longer.

Staff across all remaining 114 stores were formally notified on Monday (July 25) that their jobs would be going into a redundancy consultation.

That news came on the same day that a report into BHS' ownership under tycoon billionaire Sir Phillip Green was released, where he was branded the "unacceptable face of capitalism" by a parliamentary inquiry.

Two Commons select committees also accused the entrepreneur of seeking to blame anyone but himself for the firm's failure, and also said he has a "moral duty" to make a "large financial contribution" to the 20,000 pensioners facing substantial cuts to their benefits.
