A Question Time-style event on the Hammersmith Flyunder will be chaired by renowned BBC broadcaster John Humphrys.

The Hammersmith resident and award-winning presenter of Radio 4’s Today programme and Mastermind will oversee a panel, made up of members from Transport for London (TfL), specialist tunnelling engineers and Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

It takes place at the newly refurbished Lyric Hammersmith Theatre at 7pm on Thursday (June 18), and has been organised by West London Link, a group of local architects supported by the HammersmithLondon Business Improvement District (BID), who were responsible for the idea of tunnelling the A4 – a project now being supported by TfL, the Mayor of London and Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

Organised as part of the London Festival of Architecture, the event seeks to examine how Hammersmith would change without the flyover and what the alternatives could be.

An exhibition showing the group’s contribution to date as well as thoughts on the future will be featured in a pop-up gallery in Kings Mall from midday to 6pm on June 11, 12 and 13. This will also be displayed at the Lyric Theatre from 5.30pm on June 18.

Tickets for the Flyunder debate cost £5 and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets can be bought online at www.lyric.co.uk or by contacting the Lyric Box Office on 020 8741 6850.
