Shane O'Brien, a 27-year-old man police urgently want to speak to in connection with the murder of Josh Hanson in Eastcote, has been featured on BBC Crimewatch's 'Wanted Faces'.

A national manhunt for O'Brien, who is also known as 'Troy', was launched by police just over a month ago, after 21-year-old Mr Hanson was killed on October 11.

Shane O'Brien is described as a white male, 6ft tall, and of muscular build.

Crimewatch revealed he also has a mark on the centre of his face and tattoo of the name 'Shannon' on his back.

Wanted: Shane O'Brien

It is believed that he lived in Ladbroke Grove and has links to Kent, Reading and the Ruislip area.

The Met said he should not be approached by members of the public and any sightings of him should be reported to police immediately on 999.

Josh Hanson, of Kingsbury, Brent, died after an incident at The RE Bar in Field End Road, Eastcote, at around 1.10am on Sunday 11 October.

Police officers and London Ambulance Service attended and Mr Hanson was found suffering a serious wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation was launched by Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).

A post-mortem examination of Josh's body revealed the 21-year-old died from a stab wound to the neck.

Days after his death, Josh Hanson's mother, Tracey, pleaded for help to find her son's killer.

Following the renewed appeal on BBC Crimewatch, aired on Monday (16 November), the grieving parent has posted to a Facebook page set up in her son's memory, 'Justice for Josh Hanson.'

She wrote: “Everywhere I go I show people what has happened to my beautiful son Josh, along with the image of man the police want to question, it surprises me time and time again how many people have not heard about it.

Ms Hanson urges the public to keep sharing the image of Shane O'Brien, adding: “Once again I thank each and everyone of you for giving Brooke and I the strength to keep pushing forward we would be lost with you.”

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, who is leading the investigation, previously said: "Josh was a hard-working young lad, up at 5am for his job as a roads planner and often working seven days a week.

“He had everything to live for and when he went out that Saturday night, no one could have imagined what would happen to him. His family is in pieces."

Anyone who knows of Shane's whereabouts can call the incident room on 020 8785 8099 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org.
