A teenager was knocked from his moped by a car, surrounded and stabbed by up to five men on Tuesday (October 10) evening.

Police were called to the incident at the Gallants Farm Road junction with Burlington Rise at around 9.30pm.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he was treated for several stab wounds in his back and groin, he has since been released.

The attack on the 18-year-old moped driver allegedly took place following a dispute between him and a car full of men.

The car allegedly drove into the moped and knocked the driver off.

Then the four or five men inside the car, described as a dark blue vehicle, reportedly got out and attacked the teenager with knives.

One of the occupants from the car is described as black man, with an afro-style haircut and shavings in his eyebrow.

Police launched an appeal for information on Wednesday (October 11) and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact them.

DC Gemma Mariner, of Barnet CID, said: "We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, who may have witnessed it taking place, to come forward and speak to police.

"A man was seriously injured during this incident and we would like to hear from anyone who may have any information."
