Police have made two arrests following the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old woman in Brent on Friday (May 26).

Mohanna Abdhou, who has been described by her family as a "loving daughter, sister and friend", was shot whilst she was out enjoying a night with her friends in Kilburn.

Police were called to Malvern Road at 8.54pm to reports that a woman had been shot.

Montana, as she is known to her friends and family, was found by officers and the London Ambulance Service, suffering from gunshot injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.34pm and a post-mortem examination on Saturday (May 27) gave the cause of death as a single gunshot wound.

A 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were arrested in west London on suspicion of murder in the early hours of Wednesday morning (May 31).

They both remain in custody at north London police stations.

Police said enquiries have established Montana and her friends were approached by two males on bicycles.

Both suspects had their faces covered and were wearing dark coloured clothing.

One of the suspects discharged a firearm towards the group and Montana was shot.

The suspects then fled along Malvern Road heading towards Shirland Road.

DCI Andy Partridge said: "Whilst arrests have been made, this investigation is still in its early stages and I believe the public can provide further information to assist the investigation.

"In particular I am keen to trace anyone who saw the two ‘masked’ suspects together on bicycles, either in Malvern Road, or nearby before or after the attack.

"The suspects headed towards Shirland Road after the attack and we now know they entered Shirland Mews, this was within minutes of the attack at 8.54pm on Friday 26 May.

"I can reassure the public that any information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence."

A 21-year-old man who was arrested at the scene on Friday, has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
