Around 20 people were evacuated from an office near Willesden Junction on Tuesday (November 29) after a fire broke out in a shipping container.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to a shipping container fire in Channel Gate Road at 3.09pm, before it was under control by 5.14pm.

A spokesman for Double 4 Ltd, a truck repair shop in the road, said there were around 20 people inside the office when it was evacuated at around 4.15pm.

It is not yet clear if there was any damage to the office buidling.

The LFB spokesman said fire crews are now cooling a gas cylinder, due to its potential to explode when exposed to heat, and added that the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to the scene from Park Royal, Willesden, North Kensington and Ealing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
