Around 20 crimes of a violent or sexual nature reported DAILY in Brent in just one month

An alarming number violent and sexual crimes were reported in Brent in just one month, latest figures reveal.

The latest statistics available show that in July 2017 an average of 21 offences of a violent or sexual nature were reported daily in Brent, with a total of 644 crimes in just one month.

A deeper look at locations reveals "hotspots" for violent/sexual offences within the borough.

Areas with the the lowest levels of violent/sexual offences include Preston, Kenton and Church End, where fewer than 15 crimes were reported in each place during July 2017.

In other parts of the borough, Home Office figures paint a shocking picture with up to 66 crimes of a violent/sexual nature being reported in just 31 days.

The violent/sexual category, as stipulated by the Home Office, includes offences against the person such as common assaults, grievous bodily harm and sexual offences.

Willesden Green - 66 violent/sexual crimes

A total of 66 violent/sexual crimes were reported in Willesden Green, 29 of which occurred around the Willesden Lane end of the High Road.

The Metropolitan Police map shows most incidents occurred on or near Hersant close.

Stonebridge - 64 violent/sexual crimes

With only two fewer crimes than Willesden Green, 64 violent/sexual crimes were reported in Stonebridge out of a total 265 crimes reported there in July 2017.

A total of 20 incidences were said to have happened off Brentfield Road, while the area's most violent street was Central Way where 11 offences were reported.

Harlesden's areas with the most reported crimes were around Craven Park Road during July, where 32 of the 56 total reported sexual/violent crimes took place.

A total of five offences were reported near a Tesco supermarket, making it the area's crime hotspot.

Dudden Hill - 47 violent/sexual crimes

There were 47 violent/sexual incidents out of a total 184 crimes reported in Dudden Hill in July.

The area's most prevalent parts for reports of crime were around the Burnley Road end of Dudden Hill Lane, where 35 offences allegedly took place.

Kensal Green - 46 violent/sexual crimes

Kensal Green was the fifth most violent area of Brent in July 2017 with 46 offences reported there.

The patch's area with most reports were around Springwell Avenue, where seven crimes occurred.

Met Police figures flag Ravensworth Road as the most common area in the month for reported crimes, with five offences happening on or near there.

Tokyngton- 45 violent/sexual crimes

Out of a total 175 reported crimes, 45 were violent/sexual in Tokyngton in July 2017.

A total of 15 offenses were reported to have taken place around the Wembley Park station end of Olympic Way.

Kilburn - 44 violent/sexual crimes

In Kilburn there were 189 reported crimes in July 2017, 44 of which were violent/sexual.

The streets around Willesden Lane were the area's most criminal with a whopping 71 offences taking place there.

There were 39 violent/sexual crimes in the area, the highest number of which happened on or near Drake's Courtyard.

Wembley Central - 40 violent/sexual crimes

Wembley Central was another of Brent's crime "hotspots" and 40 of the 240 crimes that reportedly took place there in July were of a violent or sexual nature.

Police figures show 28 offences happened around Wembley Central station highlighting it as a hub of reported criminal activity.

Most crimes took place in the streets around the police station where five incidents were reported.

Harrow road- 33 violent/sexual crimes

Out of the total 148 crimes reported in Harrow Road during July, 33 were of a violent or sexual nature.

A total of 59 of the offences took place at the Fermoy Road end of Harrow Road making it a hotspot for violent/sexual crimes.

Alperton-32 violent/sexual crimes

Alperton was the 10th most reported violent spot in Brent during July where 32 of the total 111 crimes reported were of a violent or sexual nature.

Most incidents occurred at the Alperton station end of Ealing road where 17 offences were reported.

Police figures show that the area's most dangerous spots was near the bus station, where four crimes took place.
