Armed police were seen in Kilburn High Road on Wednesday (March 29) afternoon amid reports of a “kidnapping”.

Photos emerged on Twitter of officers carrying guns at around 5pm, while in another image a policeman is seen carrying a battering ram.

The Met said they had been called at 4.30pm to reports of a person being kept against his will, but found no evidence to support this.

One person who witnessed it said: “There was a bunch kitted out like SWAT team there. I think there were about 20 police officers there in total, and maybe three to five with guns.”

He was told that police were acting on information that someone had been kidnapped.
