An armchair was carried around the centre of London recently for people on the street to talk about what home means to them.

American e-commerce company Wayfair hit the streets of the capital over the Easter weekend armed with the chair to find out more about what the word "home" means to us.

The chair was plonked in various places around London and people were invited to sit on it and answer the pressing question.

And this touching video reveals that people consider homes to be much more than just buildings or places.

Both insightful and heartwarming, the video shows that homes are family, comfort, inspiration and happiness - with the words family and love coming out on top as the most popular answers.

A spokesperson for Wayfair said: “it’s warming to see how people smile when they describe home and their favourite items.

"Home is an emotive subject and something we all cherish deeply.

"Our homes are places that should inspire us to go out into the world and do great things."
