Police officers from Hounslow showed their support for Andy Murray ahead of his Wimbledon quarter final by posing for a selfie with the British number one.

The two-time Grand Slam title winner appeared to be in a relaxed mood as he joined officers from Hounslow borough on Tuesday (July 5), during his day off.

The officers, who were on duty at the tournament, tweeted to thank him for posing with them after they bumped into him at SW19.

The Wimbledon second seed, who in 2013 became the first Briton in 77 years to lift the trophy, is the bookies' favourite for this year's title after the shock elimination of his nemesis Novak Djokovic.

He is due to play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Wednesday (July 6) afternoon for a place in the semi-finals, with the match expected to begin at around 3pm, after the Federer vs Cilic match.

Murray this week said he expected the contest to be a close-fought one , coming down to a few pivotal points.

He easily saw off Australian Nick Kyrgios on Monday (July 4) to advance to the last eight at Wimbledon.
