Paramedics are called out 13 times every day to suspected drug-related emergencies across west London.

Crews at The London Ambulance Service (LAS) have been called out to 3,766 drug-related problems in Shepherd's Bush, Brent , Westminster , Harrow and Uxbridge, so far in 2015.

The data was uncovered following a Freedom of Information request from Getwestlondon.

The most common times for the service to get these kinds of calls was between 8pm and 9pm in W, NW, WC, HA and UB postcodes.

The busiest day in the year with 27 call-outs was Saturday August 29 - part of the summer bank holiday weekend; closely followed by 26 call-outs on March 10; and 25 on January 24.

NW1 was by far the most common origin of calls for drug-related call-outs among these postcodes, with 320 from the area, which includes the area around Camden Town.

Other hotspots include W12 in Shepherd's Bush and W2 around Kensington and Hyde Park.

So far this year, there have been more calls on a Thursday to do with drugs than Fridays.

Across the capital there have been over 16,000 call-outs to do with drug overdoses or poisoning.

The first call of this kind came in at 13 minutes past midnight on New Year's Day from the east of the capital.

LAS said it was possible the data included some incidents such as food poisoning that would not have come from substance misuse.
