Two men from Acton died in a car crash in Essex on Saturday (November 12) after the driver of the car they were in lost control for an unknown reason, an inquest heard.

Farhad Zubair-Maqbool and Yahya Mohamed Sharif, both 25, died near the Ingatestone bypass, 800 metres from junction 13, reports Essex Live .

At around 11.13pm they were travelling in a black BMW on the northbound carriageway.

Speaking at their inquest this morning, the coroner's officer said: "For reasons unknown the vehicle lost control and left the carriageway on the nearside and collided with a tree."

A post-mortem found the cause of death of the pair to be multiple injuries.

Area coroner Eleanor McGann adjourned the inquest until April 11 2017.

Driver Yousif Al-Mussawi, 26, from Maida Vale, survived the horror smash but remains in a critical condition in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.

A fundraising page set up to help the trio's families has already raised more than £12,500 in just two days.

A police investigation is being carried out and anyone with information can contact Essex police on 101.

It has since been confirmed that Yahya was a student at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, studying a BSc in civil engineering since 2014.

A spokesman at the university told Essex Live : "As a student he was a delight to teach, bright, clever and keen to learn. But he was also much more than that.

"He brought his big personality and great sense of humour to the classroom. He was friendly, kind and enthusiastic, always willing to help fellow students, and had made many friends at Anglia Ruskin.

"Yahya will be very much missed by staff and students alike. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time."
