A man has suffered a head injury after a car overturned on the A40 in White City this morning (Thursday January 12).

Metropolitan Police was called to the A40 in the White City area at around 8.15am to a collision, with pictures on social media showing a car overturned on to its roof.

A man was taken to hospital with a head injury, although officers do not believe his condition is serious.

The collision sparked traffic queues heading westbound out of London on the A40, with BBC presenter Jeremy Vine posting a video of traffic queues on the road on Twitter.

Police added that no other vehicle is thought to have been involved in the crash.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London Fire Brigade (LFB) attended, police added.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called at around 08:15am on Thursday 12 January, to a collision on the A40 in the White City area.

"Officers, LAS and LFB attended the scene.

"A man was taken to hospital suffering a head injury.

The collision caused traffic queues on the A40. (Twitter: @Natalie_Oxford).

"His condition is not believed to be serious.

"No other vehicle is thought to have been involved."
