Commuters faced severe delays heading into London this morning (Thursday April 27) following a collision on the A40 in Greenford.

The Metropolitan Police was called to the scene at 7.04am.

A spokesman from the Metropolitan Police said: "It looks like a car in collision with a motorcycle, A40 Greenford, eastbound carriageway."

The spokesman added the motorcyclist had minor injuries.

Transport for London (TfL) continue to warn of severe delays following the incident which has closed the third lane of the A40 Western Avenue between Target Underpass and Greenford Flyover, with tailbacks now from Denham in Buckinghamshire.

On its website, TfL say: "Eastbound traffic is slow moving with tailbacks reaching the Denham Roundabout.

"Westbound is also slow moving due to onlookers with tailbacks beyond Greenford Flyover.

"Expect delays."
