Police swarmed a betting shop in Heston following an armed robbery on Monday (January 23).

The Metropolitan Police said they were called at 9.45am to New Heston Road where two white males entered a property and a suspected firearm was seen.

They stole with a quantity of cash and went off in unknown direction, police said.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene where a man in his 60s was treated for suffering from shock.

A crime scene remains in place while officers investigate.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called to an address in New Heston Road, Hounslow, at 9.45am on Monday, January 23, to reports of an armed robbery.

"Two white men entered the property and a suspected firearm was seen.

"They made off with a quantity of cash in an unknown direction.

"London Ambulance Service also attended and treated a man in his 60s who was suffering from shock."

Kamaljeet Singh of Southall who was in the area at around 10am said: "I was coming out of Heston library and saw many police vehicles including armed police turn up.

"They also sealed of the industrial estate opposite possibly that's the way he escaped."

No arrests have been made.

Police enquiries continue.
