A 23-year-old man will appear in court on Tuesday (August 18) charged with the murder of a woman in Harrow.

Peter Kibisu, of Northumberland Road, Harrow, was charged with the murder of 31-year-old Elizabeth Nnyanzi on Monday (August 17).

Kibisu will appear in custody at Hendon Magistrates' Court.

Police were called to an address in Northumberland Road at around 5.55pm on Friday (August 14) to reports of an unresponsive woman at the property.

London Ambulance Service also attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old was arrested the next day.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on August 16 at Northwick Park Mortuary and police are awaiting confirmation of the result.

The deceased and the man arrested were "known to each other", police said.

Officers from Harrow attended the scene - the Homicide and Major Crime Command are now leading this investigation under Detective Chief Inspector Tim Duffield.
