A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after threats were made to burn down a secondary school in Ealing.

Ealing Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) said a secondary school in the borough received the threatening message on its answering machine.

Officers said the male making the call began to make threats to cause damage to the building.

He had threatened to "burn down" the school, according to police.

A transcript of the voice message has been passed to a safer schools officer.

Four days after the incident on February 19, a 12-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of threats to cause criminal damage and was taken to a west London police station.

He is currently on bail until March 27 as investigations continue.
