LIAM FOX FLIES TO WASHINGTON TO PREPARE FOR POST-BREXIT TRADE DEAL

Work will begin on preparing the ground for a post-Brexit trade deal with the United States when the International Trade Secretary flies into Washington.

Liam Fox will meet trade representative Robert Lighthizer for two days of talks at the first UK-US trade and investment working group.

European Union rules mean the UK cannot sign a deal until after it has quit the bloc but the discussions will pave the way for a future potential free trade agreement.

TWO MEN TO FACE COURT OVER POSSIBLE 'HONOUR KILLING'

Two men are due in court in connection with a possible "honour killing" in London.

A 33-year-old man is charged with the murder, rape and kidnap of a 19-year-old woman.

He is also charged with the rape, attempted murder and kidnap of a second victim, a woman in her 20s.

CHARLIE GARD'S PARENTS RETURN TO COURT AS JUDGE CONSIDERS BABY'S FUTURE

Charlie Gard's parents are preparing to return to court for a hearing at which the terminally-ill baby's future could be decided.

Mr Justice Francis is set to oversee the latest stage of Chris Gard and Connie Yates's five-month legal fight over treatment at a hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in London.

The judge had been scheduled to analyse what the couple said was fresh evidence at a two-day trial starting at 10am on Monday.

CAMPAIGNERS PLAN VIGIL AFTER DEATH OF MAN FOLLOWING POLICE CHASE

Stand Up To Racism protesters are planning a vigil outside a London police station on Monday after a black man died following a police chase.

Campaigners say they are "enormously concerned and angered" over the death of Rashan Charles over the weekend.

Unverified footage on social media appeared to show at least one police officer attempting to restrain Mr Charles on the floor of a shop, in Kingsland Road, east London, at 1.45am on Saturday.

EIGHT-YEAR-OLD GIRL DIES AFTER BECOMING TRAPPED UNDER LOGS IN FOREST

An eight-year-old girl has died and a 12-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after becoming trapped under logs in an Argyll forest.

The tragedy happened near the village of Benderloch outside Oban on Sunday.

Police and other emergency services were called to the area after receiving a report that a girl was trapped under logs.

SUSPECT DUE IN COURT AFTER NINE DIE IN TRUCK FOUND IN TEXAS CAR PARK

A man who was arrested after at least nine people died in the back of a sweltering tractor-trailer found outside a Walmart store in Texas is due in court.

Federal prosecutors say James Mathew Bradley, 60, of Clearwater, Florida, will be charged on Monday.

Officials say nearly 20 other people rescued from the back of the rig in San Antonio early on Sunday are in hospital in critical condition, many with extreme dehydration and heatstroke.

STATE PENSION AGE CHANGE 'TO COST SEVEN MILLION PEOPLE £10,000 EACH'

More than seven million people in their 30s and 40s will lose out by £10,000 each under Government plans to increase the state pension age earlier than planned.

People born between 1970 and 1978 will have to wait until they are 68, an extra year, before receiving payments, Work and Pensions Secretary David Gauke announced last week.

Labour said the reforms were "disgraceful and unjustified" and accused the Government of making workers carry on for longer to pay for their failing austerity policies.

HUMAN BLOOD 'FOUND ON BEN NEEDHAM'S TOY CAR AND SANDAL'

Human blood has reportedly been found on a toy car and sandal believed to have belonged to toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared on Kos 26 years ago.

Kerry Needham said the discovery is evidence of a cover-up in the disappearance of her son, who was staying at his grandparents' farmhouse on the Greek island.

She fears the 21-month-old was killed and his body moved before British police began searching the site last year.

DEATH TOLL IN KABUL SUICIDE BOMB ATTACK RISES TO 24

A suicide car bomb attack in west Kabul has killed 24 people and left another 42 injured.

Kabul police chief spokesman Basir Mujahed said the bomber targeted a bus carrying employees of the mines and petroleum ministry early on Monday morning.

He said all the dead and wounded are civilians. The suicide bomber rammed his car into a minibus carrying the government employees.

TWO JORDANIANS KILLED AND ISRAELI WOUNDED AT EMBASSY IN AMMAN

Two Jordanians have been shot dead and an Israeli wounded in the heavily fortified Israeli embassy compound in Amman.

The kingdom's Public Security Directorate said the incident happened in a residential building in the compound in Jordan's capital..

Before the shooting, Jordanians had entered the apartment building for carpentry work, it said.
