Get West London readers are certainly not united on whether parents should be able to take their children on holidays during term-time.
The discussion was started when we shared the news that Jon Platt had lost his legal battle after he refused to pay a £120 fine for taking his daughter to Florida for seven days during the school term.
Mr Platt had argued that his actions were not unlawful because his daughter had a good overall attendance record of over 90%.
Some of you agreed that taking your child out of school for a few days a year was not harmful.
Lynn Whitethread said: "If a child attends school regularly and parents check there are no important assessments or exams going on they will not be causing any problems for teachers or child!"
Some even praised the merits of travelling over more traditional methods of education.
Eileen Hughes said: "I took my two boys out of school and tutored them at home, we went all over the world when we wanted and they learned so much more."
However, others thought that term-time holidays were disruptive for both pupils and teachers.
Jo Gordon-Wright said: "What people often forget is, it's not just the child missing out on their education, but it also affects the teacher's schedule."
Lisa George agreed: "I think it's disgusting how people pick and choose when it comes to their children's education saying 'one or two days won't hurt, they won't miss anything.'
"In reality you have disadvantaged your child against those who didn't miss - why would you want to do that to your child?"
What most readers seemed to agree on was that travel prices during the school holidays are too expensive, with Joyce Pierce Griffiths saying: "Travel agents hang your heads in shame.
"You have done this to this family and every other family because you hike your prices when kids are on school holidays."
