Where has the time gone? Prince George celebrates his fourth birthday this weekend and the Royal Family has released a new portrait to mark the occasion.

Ahead of the celebrations for the little prince on Saturday (July 22), Kensington Palace shared the photo on Twitter.

The post read: "The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new official portrait of Prince George to mark HRH's fourth birthday [on Saturday]."

The picture was taken at Kensington Palace in London at the end of June, by Chris Jackson, Getty Images Royal Photographer.

It has now gone viral, with the original Twitter post alone having had more than 5.4K retweets and 22K likes.
