TWO BRITISH WOMEN KILLED IN LATE-NIGHT SWIM IN ROUGH SEAS OFF COAST OF SPAIN

Two British women died after being swept out to sea in 13 foot waves while on holiday in Spain.

The bodies of the two friends, named in reports as mothers Lisa Coggins and Tracey Aston, were recovered from the water seven hours after they went missing at 4.15am on Thursday.

Locals said one of the women had gone for a late-night swim and got into trouble in the rough waters.

BEING TALL INCREASES CANCER RISK, STUDY SHOWS

Being tall significantly increases the risk of cancer, the biggest study looking into the link has shown.

Researchers analysed data on 5.5 million Swedish men and women with adult heights ranging between a diminutive 100 centimetres (3.3 ft) and lofty 225 centimetres (7.4 feet).

They found that for every extra 10 centimetres in height, the overall risk of developing cancer increased by 11% for men and 18% for women.

A gunman opened fire inside a classroom at a rural Oregon college, killing at least nine people before dying in a shoot-out with police.

One survivor said he demanded his victims state their religion before he started shooting.

The attack shattered the first week of classes at Umpqua Community College in the small timber town of Roseburg, about 180 miles south of Portland.

The killer was identified as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer. The authorities shed no light on his motive and said they were investigating.
