Two batches of Easter eggs have been recalled over a potential health risk.

Lindt & Sprungli Ltd is recalling two batches of its Excellence Dark Extra Fine Shell Egg and Lindor Strawberries and Cream Shell Egg ranges.

This is because the products fail to mention the presence of barley on the ingredients, posing a health risk to people with an allergy.

The Lindt Excellence Dark Extra Fine Shell Egg, 220g, with a best before date of October 2017, and Lindor Strawberry and Cream Shell Egg, 285g, with a best before date of July 2017, are affected.

A Food Standards Agency spokesman said: "If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to barley, do not eat them.

"Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund."
