Singer Barry Manilow has reportedly married his manager in a secret ceremony that is believed to have taken place last year.

The Copacabana singer apparently got hitched to Garry Kief in a small ceremony at Barry's Palm Springs, California home in front of 20 or 30 guests who thought they were invited to lunch.

Happy couple Manilow and Kief did not sign any paperwork according to People magazine, but both wear wedding bands and a source said: "They are committed to one another and have been for a very long time. They have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry."

In 2012 he told the Daily Telegraph: "Happily single? Yeah, happily single. I am a private guy. You can only come into my world if I invite you in. From the very beginning that was the rule.

"I learned how to deal with the publicity/press thing. You just say, 'I'm not interested in talking about [that]'. Even the names of my dogs! They are my kids, my friends are my friends and my family, they are mine.

"That's the only way I can survive. I have to keep that to me. I don't want strangers knowing everything. If that happened, that would drive me crazy."

Manilow was married once before, to Susan Deixler, but had the marriage annulled in 1966 after two years.

His spokesman has not commented on whether the star is married.
