A Southall man has been barred from a Kensington casino without explanation - weeks after winning £10,000 on the roulette wheel.

Ravi Ram was told last Thursday (June 9) by Genting Casino Cromwell Mint (GCCM), owned by Genting UK, that he was barred from the premises.

But he was given no explanation, only being told by security intelligence manager Phil Birdsall that the casino is "fully entitled to decide who can and cannot use venues without having to quantify why".

Mr Ram admits he uses his own "winning formula" on the roulette game, picking numbers based on their probability having observed patterns in his five years as a customer.

He says, while the formula is no guarantee of success, he has take home a healthy stash of winnings on occasions.

During May, he claims he earned £10,000 through roulette at GCCM and a further £5,000 from Grosvenor Victoria Casino in Edgware Road - who he claims have also banned him.

Winnings 'not a concern'

However, the 30-year-old was told by Mr Birdsall that his ban was not due to his recent winnings.

A letter from GCCM to Mr Ram read: "Whilst I will not be drawn into a debate about the reason for your barring I am willing to confirm that it is NOT relating to your recent winning visits.

"They have not reached an amount that are of concern.

"Indeed, if customers never won in a casino it is unlikely to retain its customers and it might regarded as 'unlucky'.

"The management has the absolute right at its sole discretion to approve or decline a customer entry to the club or to suspend a customer locally or nationally, whether on a temporary basis or permanently.

"The management shall not be bound to give any explanation for any decision so made, which shall be final with no recourse to an appeal.

"I’m sure my explanation will not entirely satisfy you but I will reiterate that we are fully entitled to decide who can and cannot use our venues without having to quantify why."

'I feel hard done by'

Mr Ram has been unemployed for seven months, and says he does not receive benefits - instead living off his casino winnings.

Mr Ram added: "I didn't feel the need to work because I was having such good luck in casinos, which were giving me a better life without working.

"It was a winning formula - I was just following a pattern.

"I feel hard done by and quite upset - it is a passion of mine.

"I think it is unfair and it just doesn't make sense."
