Scottish Hollywood A-lister Ewan McGregor was spotted in Uxbridge on Monday (September 11) and it seems most getwestlondon readers were sad to miss out.

The heart throb who stunned audiences in his breakout role as a heroin addict in "Trainspotting" more than 20 years ago was thought to be filming futuristic drama "Zoe".

"Punch me in the face," said Kim Allen on our getwestlondon Facebook page.

We assume she was one of many to have missed the star's fleeting appearance at Brunel University.

Jackie Kenny, meanwhile, reminded us that we need to do better research as it turns out he was also at the Protein Shack in town.

Shirley Cooper has vowed to "have a good look" for Ewan in the town and we might end up joining her.

One reader Danni Dorsett is ruing her decision not to have gone to Uxbridge on Monday, but the only way to avoid that is to go there every day. Trust us, it's lovely.

We're glad we could provide Sian Tucker with some "my uni is better than yours" fodder as she points out Brunel students have had celebs on campus.

Brunel was famously used in Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" as well as in numerous episodes of "Inspector Morse".

A high-budget Bollywood sequel "Judwaa 2" was also filmed there this summer and releases in cinemas later this month.

Lynn Hall wasn't so sure, when she said "Filming in Uxbridge? Must be a futuristic disaster movie!".

But, as Dawn Bailey correctly pointed out west London really is "on the up and up".

Only recently Tom Hardy was spotted filming in London and The Hitman's Bodyguard , which came out last month, used Harrow for one of its locations.

Blockbuster master Michael Bay took aim at Syon Park in Hounslow for his latest Transformers sequel, The Last Kinght.
