ZOMBIES are in demand this Halloween by a shopping centre which wants to recruit them to stagger after fun run volunteers.
Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre in partnership with the Ealing Half Marathon, will be hosting a 2km run designed to make participants sweat and scream.
The 2km needs zombies to stagger after fun runners motivating them to get to the finish line as fast as they can.
All proceeds from the run will go to The Log Cabin in Northfields, a play area for children with disabilities and additional needs. The event on Thursday October 30 with race start times at 7.00pm, 7.20pm and 7.40pm.
This Hallows eve starts by preparing runners with a Virgin Active’s zombie Zumba class, Thriller-style, helping them limber up and avoid becoming a tasty treat later.
Runners will then wind their way through the shopping centre’s basement, avoiding frights and thrills at every corner.
After the race, all participants are invited to monster mash into the night with West Side radio who will be providing music sure to rattle bones and bodies.
The next day the shopping centre is holding a safe trick or treating initiative for the children of Ealing.
The free activity invites children to get dressed up to enjoy a day of face painting, spooky entertainment and of course, treats.
Lucy Thomas, Marketing Manager for the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre said: “We can’t wait to see the centre full of Halloween fancy dress and children enjoying themselves in a safe environment.
“Shops have jumped at the chance to be involved and we are encouraging them to dress up and get into the ‘spirit’ of things too.”
The safe trick or treating initiative takes place Friday October 31 from 12.00pm to 6.00pm. To volunteer to take part in the race as a zombie, go to: http://www.ealingbroadwayshopping.co.uk/content/jog-zombies
