A schoolboy is believed to have been stabbed in the neck in Eastcote today.

Police were called to Southbourne Gardens, Eastcote, close to the Cavendish Recreation Ground, at 11am.

They discovered a youth, believed to be in his teens, with neck injuries. He was airlifted to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, who said the youth had been stabbed..

Police have sealed off the area, and officers have started questioning members of the public about the incident.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called by the London Ambulance Service to a report of an injured man in Southbourne Gardens/Field End Road at approx 11:00.

"A male with a neck injury was taken to hospital. His condition is not deemed to be life threatening.

"He has not made any allegation of assault/crime to police."

Witnesses said police sealed off the alleyway between Field End Road and Pine Gardens as well as the car park for the Cavendish Park pavillion. The rest of the park was reopened early in the afternoon.

One local resident told the Gazette: "There was a lot of commotion and apparently a boy was stabbed."
