DRIVERS are being invited to have their say on how much motorists should be charged in parking and other traffic penalties and charges.

London Councils and Transport for London (TfL) have launched a three month consultation on levels of penalties for motorists who commit parking and traffic offences.

The amount of penalties charged is reviewed every four years and now Londoners are being asked to have their say once again.

Chair of London Councils Transport and Environment Committee, Councillor Catherine West said: “We know that parking penalties are a contentious issue and we are encouraging everyone to have their say in this consultation. We also recognise motorists like everyone else are facing tough times and we want to be as fair as possible in parking enforcement.”

The consultation runs from 1 July until 30 September 2010.
