How often has an assistant gone out of their way to help choose a gift, carry shopping, or simply brighten your day with friendly chat?
Does someone you work with go the extra mile to ensure customers are as complimentary about the service as they are the food and drink?
The Gazette has teamed up with The Chimes shopping centre and the Uxbridge Initiative to look for the first winners of the inaugural Customer Service Awards 2008.
To take part all you have to do is nominate the person who gives you great service in Uxbridge with entries being accepted in two main categories.
The first is stores and can include anyone from chain or independent shops in the town centre.
The second is town centre restaurants, bars and cafes.
The person nominated then stands a chance of going forward to our shortlist of great servers who will vie for a first prize of £250 cash with a winner chosen from both categories.
There will also be trophies for the first, second and third placed people in each and nominators will also stand a chance of winning one of four Chimes gift cards worth £50 each.
Chimes marketing manager Michelle Moffitt said: “At The Chimes we pride ourselves on having great customer service, so we felt it only natural to initiate an event awarding customer service in Uxbridge.
“We look forward to hearing from our customers as to who gives them the best service in town.”
The Uxbridge Initiative partnership aims to enhance the attraction of Uxbridge and the town centre manager Andy Stubbs said: “Good customer service is a major contributor to a good customer experience. We know that staff in Uxbridge can deliver great service, now we want to know who the shining stars are.”
Nominations are open to all and the closing date for entries is May 4.
After this date a shortlist will be drawn up by a panel of judges from the companies sponsoring the awards and the winners announced at a special ceremony at Baroosh, in Uxbridge, on Thursday, May 22
