Students got a taste of life in the Army at an activity day.
More than 75 young people tested their skills with tasks set by Army officers at Stanmore College, in Elm Park at the and of last month.
Activities on the day included paint-balling, target practice and command tasks to test team working and confidence building skills. There were also
displays of 24-hour ration supplies and a tricky climbing wall was set up in the college car-park for students to scale.
Deputy Principal David Knowles said: "Whether students decide to sign up for the army or not, this event would put anyone in good stead to work on challenges and problem solving.
"From the looks on the students' faces they found it a thoroughly enjoyable day indeed."
The day was to celebrate the college's acceptance on the Army Further Education Bursary Scheme. The college is one of 27 in London that are part of the project, which supports students who sign up for the army to study for a level two qualification at college.
