Hillingdon youngsters were hooked on fishing and fun at the weekend after enjoying themselves at Little Britain Lake.

Kids and their families flocked the lake in Packet Boat Lane, Cowley, on Sunday (August 9), to try their hand at fishing.

The free event was laid on by Hillingdon Council for a seventh year and showed no signs of its popularity waning.

There were angling sessions every hour guided by experienced volunteer and equipment and bait was provided for free.

Youngsters were also reeled in by the promise of river dipping, bird box making, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Coundil leader Ray Puddifoot said: “It was fantastic to see so many families come down to our Family Fishing Fun Days at Little Britain Lake and have a go at fishing.

“This is the seventh year that we have held these events which were attended by hundreds of children. It was great to see families enjoying the fishing experience as well as the host of other activities available.”
