Funfair rides and food from around the world were among the attractions at a fun day in Southall on Sunday (August 3).

Revellers also enjoyed henna tattoos during the free event organised by the Convent Way Residents Association.

Feltham and Heston MP Seema Malhotra, who was among the guests, said: "It is fabulous to see residents taking a lead to put together a family event in the heart of the community.

"Events like this build bridges between neighbours and put a huge smile on children's faces. It was a lovely afternoon and a great way to start the summer break."

Abdiwali Mumin, chair of the residents association, said: "We are proud that working together we have achieved our goal of a summer party for local families.

"We have huge ambitions for how we can improve the lives of Convent Way residents a through a diverse range of events and activities and create ways for people of all backgrounds to spend quality time together."
