THE Glee Club choir from Laurel Lane Primary School were the star attraction at the Kick-Off to Christmas event in West Drayton.

The 27 children sang traditional carols and other Christmas classics at the Com Cafe, on the Glebe Estate, on Monday evening.

David Graham, community Development officer at the cafe, was pleased with the turnout as dozens of children and their parents got into the festive spirit by making holly wreaths and baubles for the Christmas tree.

He said: “It went really well and Hillingdon’s deputy mayor, Michael Markham, came to turn on the tree lights – at which point it really felt like Christmas.

“We served free soup and mince pies and everyone seemed to have a great time.”
