A young man has been taken to hospital with leg injuries following a motorcycle and car collision on Uxbridge Road in Hanworth , last night (4).

The motorcyclist, a male, reported to be in his 20s was treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS), and was taken to West Middlesex Hospital.

The crash involved a blue Peugeot 307 and a white Yamaha motorcycle, and happened just before 9pm.

The incident led to the closure of Uxbridge Road at the junction with Hampton Road West - an accident hotspot area - for nearly three hours.

The roads were reopened just before midnight.

Police said they were informed by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) of the incident. 

A LAS spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.52pm to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a motorbike on Uxbridge Road.

"We sent an ambulance crew to the scene.

"We treated a man reported to be in his 20s for a leg injury and he was taken to West Middlesex Hospital."

A police spokesman added: "We were called to Uxbridge Road, Hanworth, at 8.56pm to reports that a vehicle had been in collision with a motorcycle.

"A motorcyclist was initially thought to have serious injuries and the road was closed as a result to initiate an investigation. 

"Paramedics treated a man at the scene before he was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

"His condition is not life threatening."

No arrests have been made.
