VANDALS have wrecked a charity shop in support of the terminally ill by stealing a computer and setting fire to the premises.

The Thames Hospice Care shop in Fairfield Road, Yiewsley, was hit by a double dose of yobbish behaviour in 24 hours.

Last Wednesday (31) staff were closing up the shop when they smelt burning at the back of the shop, and had to call the Fire Brigade.

Pipes at the rear of the premises had been set alight, and have been left badly damaged, and as a result, toilets for the staff in the shop are currently out of use.

Later the same evening, thieves broke into the charity shop, stealing a computer.

A spokesman for the shop said: "Its despicable, the shop is there to give support to those with terminal illnesses and is run by volunteers.

"We need things like computers and they cost a lot of money, and it will hit us twice as hard when we claim on our insurance."
