POLICE want the public's help in identifying a yob who assaulted an innocent chip shop owner.

His actions left the owner with an eye injury which has still not healed entirely, three months on.

Now after exhausting their enquiries, officers have released a CCTV image of the suspect they want to trace.

At around 6pm on October 31, two men entered 'The Ryefield Chippy' on Ryefield Avenue, Hillingdon, and started a minor altercation with staff.

The wanted man threw a drinks can at the owner's face from very close range, leaving him with a 'significant' eye injury.

The suspect who threw the can at the victim’s face is described as a white man aged in his 20s.

His accomplice was an Asian man who was arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.

DC Eddie Byrne at Uxbridge CID said: "This was an unprovoked attack. I am appealing to anyone who can identify this man or can offer information about possible offenders to come forward."

Police believe the suspect could have links to Northolt.
