HILLINGDON Council is still trying to untangle a complicated land covenant which could throw a spanner in the works for their plans for Yiewsley Health Centre.
A public consultation was held three weeks ago about the £6 million health care project, but the Save Our Pool campaign has not given up.
The health centre will be built upon the Yiewsley Swimming Pool site in Otterfield Road which was closed down by the council last July. The council is to build the health centre and lease it back to NHS Hillingdon.
However, last month the covenant, which dates back to 1922 and 1934 restricts what can be built on the site.
Campaigners hope this could be their trump card to halt the proposals, save the pool, and get the much-needed health centre built at another site.
Hillingdon Council confirmed last week that they are still 'obtaining clarification' on the impact of the various covenants on the land.
The covenant could delay or even stop the proposal from going ahead when a planning application is submitted later this year.
