X-FACTOR'S Johnny Robinson was recently criticised by the Harrow Times for only appearing for 10 minutes when turning on the Christmas lights in Harrow town centre.

The article claimed he was paid £300 for the occasion and disappointed fans by rushing off quickly and not performing.

He told the Observer: "I didn't get a penny for that. I asked the council if they wanted me to sing and they said no, I was really disappointed by the article."

Harrow Council has confirmed that £300 was paid for Johnny to turn on the lights, but a spokesperson for his management company said this money was paid to Modest Management to cover his security costs, adding Johnny could charge up to 10 times this amount for an appearance such as this.
