A woman in her 40s was hit by a van near the busy Apex Corner roundabout in a road traffic collision on Friday (3) evening.

The female, believed to be a pedestrian, suffered a head injury and was taken as priority to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington.

A second person was checked over by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) but was not taken to hospital.

A LAS spokesman said: "We were called at around 7.10pm on Friday, October 3 to reports of a road traffic collision involving a van and a pedestrian at the Apex Corner roundabout.

"We sent a single responder by car and an ambulance crew to the scene.

"We treated a woman reported to be in her 40s for a head injury.

"She was taken to St Mary's Hospital as a priority.

"We also checked another patient at the scene but they were not taken to hospital."

According to reports on social media site Twitter Hampton Road West, was blocked for several hours in both directions between Apex Corner and Hounslow Road.
