A 52-year-old woman has suffered head injuries after being hit by a moped in Chiswick High Road this morning.

Police and two ambulance crews arrived at the scene of the "road traffic collision" outside Carphone Warehouse at around 8.50am today.

The woman was taken to a Charing Cross hospital with head injuries which police say were not believed to be life threatening.

The female moped driver was also taken to hospital with an arm injury.

A Police spokeswoman said: "At this early stage it is believed to have been a moped which caused the injuries, there are no reports of any other injuries and no arrests."

The High Road was closed to traffic until 10am.

A spokeswoman from london Ambulance Service said: "The 52-year-old woman was taken as a priority to Charing Cross Hospital."

A second ambulance also took a second person to hospital but it is not yet known whether this was the moped driver.
