A woman has died after being stabbed.
Police were called at 7.45am this morning to reports of a woman collapsing from stab wounds in Alexandra Avenue, Harrow.
The victim, aged in her 40s, was taken by London Ambulance Service to St Mary’s Hospital, where she died of her injuries just before midday.
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the murder and will be taken to a north London police station.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner, who is leading the investigation, has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
He said: "Alexandra Avenue is a busy thoroughfare and I am sure that there will have been people who may have witnessed all or some of the incident who are yet to come forward.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area between 7.30am and 7.50am this morning to contact police."
