A WOMAN has to be cut free from her car following an accident by Acton Town station last night.

The accident, believed to have involved three cars, occurred just before 9pm on Gunnersbury Lane and witnesses watched as the fire crew sawed away at the windscreen and roof of a woman's car.

She was placed on a stabilisation board and taken to Charing Cross hospital suffering back injuries.

Gunnersbury Lane was blocked off between Hanger Lane and Bollo Lane and drivers diverted away from the scene.

A London Fire Brigade Spokesman, said: "We were called at 9:24pm to three cars in collision. One person was trapped and we used cutting equipment to release that person. Fire crews from Ealing, Chiswick and Heston were sent to the scene and left at 10:05pm."

A London Ambulance Spokeswoman, said: "We were called just after 8:50pm to reports of a road traffic collision on Gunnersbury Lane, Acton town between two cars.

"We sent an ambulance crew and two single responders to the scene. A female was stabilised and taken to Charing Cross Hospital suffering back injuries."
