Join the fun at Hillingdon Summer Splash where there will be plenty of entertainment aimed at the whole family. Children’s events, steel pan music and instrument tutorials, a carnival-themed fashion show, bouncy castle and face painting will keep everyone amused. Stalls selling arts and crafts and all sorts of international cuisine will also be on offer.

Sports challenges including a tug of war will keep the more energetic guests entertained while a pop up cinema will allow families to relax in deck chairs in front of Disney’s new hit animation, Frozen, which will be shown twice during the day at 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

The event is at Connaught Recreation Ground, Uxbridge Road, Hillingdon on Sunday, July 27, between12 noon -8pm. It is free to get in.

Get a taste of the proms at St Jerome’s Church, Judge Heath Lane, Hayes which is hosting a series of concerts during proms season. The first concert is tomorrow (Saturday, July 26) and will feature the RAF Association President’s band which has played across England and Europe. In concert two, The Vale of Towy Male Voice Choir will entertain guests. In the third in the series, Jazz St John, a popular local band based at St John’s Church, Hillingdon, will play and the final concert will feature Voices in Accord, a mixed harmony group of 18 people which sings popular music from 1920s onwards
