Commuters were met with traffic chaos after the Westway was closed due to a collision in the early hours of this morning.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called just before 4am to a road traffic collision on the eastbound A40 Marylebone Flyover.

The A40 Westway eastbound at the Northern Roundabout and the A404 Harrow Road slip were also closed until 7am after a man in his 30s suffered serious injuries in the crash.

An LAS spokeswoman said: “We were called at 3.52am to Marylebone Flyover to reports of a road traffic collisions. We sent a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew.

"We treated one person reported to be in his 30s for back and pelvic injuries. He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital as a priority.”

The roads were opened again after three hours at 7am.
