A Turkish restaurant in Kensington's North End Road which is claimed by online reviewers to have London's best kebabs suffered a fire this morning.

The blaze at the Best Mangal II between Talgarth Road and Gunterstone Road obliterated the restaurant's ventilation system from the ground floor up to the first floor as well but luckily nobody was injured.

A total of four fire engines went to the scene in Kensington this morning with 21 firefighters after they were called at 7:34am today (February 24). They managed to put the fire out an hour later and the cause of the fire is now under investigation.

Customers who have visited the restaurant hold it in high regard, with many reviewers on websites ranging from Trip Advisor to Time Out, giving it five stars and proclaiming it to make the best kebabs in London.

Traffic was blocked up going northbound in North End Road around West Kensington tube station this morning while firefighters put the fire out.

The fire - whose cause is unknown - comes as the London Fire Brigade welcomed new figures showing arson incidents in Kensington and Chelsea borough had fallen by 94 per cent in the last decade.
