A West London teacher has taken time out of class to commentate on this year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Colin Bryce, who was a Team GB bobsledder and last raced at Salt Lake City in 2002, returned to the slopes this week to join the line-up of expert pundits for BBC Sport.

Bryce, who currently teaches PE at Portland Place School, Marylebone, has taken sabbatical leave for his fourth Winter Olympics commentating for the BBC.

The sportsman was brakeman in the two-man bobsleigh team in 2002 only two years after taking up the sport competitively.

Bryce said: “I am thrilled to return to the Winter Olympic Games to join the BBC Team and revisit the nostalgia of my former sport. Great Britain has some fantastic medal winning opportunities in the sliding events this Olympics.”
