A DOCTOR who is leaving her West Ealing practice after 23 years has presented with flowers and gifts.

Dr Georgia Yiangou was given a surprise ceremony at Grosvenor House Surgery in West Ealing Broadway on Friday last week.

She was presented with flowers, wine, chocolates and a carriage clock by Ealing Southall MP Virendra Sharma and councillor Patricia Walker, on behalf of Gulshan Kasmani, who organised the event.

Mrs Kasmani, of nearby Cumberland Road, who has attended the surgery for 43 years said: "All my family are grateful. We just wanted to thank her for all her time, care and professionalism over the 23 years she has been here.

"You feel like she puts herself in your shoes when you go to see her. She never rushes you and always reassures you. She’s helped me after two strokes and always makes sure I understand what’s happening."

She has no doubt the GP has saved lives, including when she spotted signs of heart attacks suffered by her brother and brother-in-law and made sure they rapidly got the help they needed.

She added: "At some point she has helped all my family and no one has a bad word to say about her."
